PAH (Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension) is a fatal rare disease that makes it difficult for oxygen to be properly distributed through the body, causing patients to feel short of breath even when walking. Whilst PAH can’t be cured, it can be treated. To optimize treatment, the patient's condition is monitored regularly through the ‘6-minute walk test’. This 6 minute is a suffocating, desperate and lonely process that reminds patients of their fatal destiny, and some patients are reluctant or even refuse to take the test. Janssen Pharma needed to support PAH patients while raising awareness of the disease among its potential patients.

6 Minutes Together is an original music playlist designed together with a PAH specialist where every song is 6-minutes long. From a vast list of 6-minute long songs from around the world, 40 songs with lyrics that inspire patients were selected. Every song has the exact Beats Per Minute to comply with patients’ walking speed approved by PAH specialist. The specialist also provided a 6-minute recording of medical tips for PAH.
The highlight of the playlist was an original song written directly for patients by one of Japan’s most famous artists, Yo Hitoto. 

Use the power of music to bring solitude patients back again to togetherness, pleasures, and hopes in life.

Media Impressions : 118 M( in a week after the launch )

The project was covered by more than 80 media including large ones such as Yahoo and LINE, which is unprecedented for communication of a rare disease. The playlist was played more than 25,000 times while reaching more than 9M impressions on Spotify in 2021. Some national TV stations such as TV Osaka picked up the project as a special featured topic.
Also, this project contributed greatly to early diagnosis of PAH patients.

Most importantly, it continues to remind patients, that they are not alone.
